When COVID hit in 2020, it gave a lot of people the opportunity to sit back and re-evaluate life, where they are, where they're going and all the details in between. During this time, photography was cut out completely... which was hard for the industry. Wedding cancelled, shoots postponed. And still to this day, my heart goes out to the Melbourne & Sydney photographers who're still struggling with business. But this time gave me the opportunity to really sit with my business and see what fits and aligns with my vision.
Boudoir is and always will be, one of my favourite genres to photograph. Capturing the essence of a woman in her most beautiful state makes my heart sing! I know the battle of self love (or self hatred...) oh so very well. I know the struggles of being a woman, mum, sister, daughter, friend... and the oh so often lack of self love and self care. So when I really sat with my boudoir side of things... I felt that the name 'Olive Tree Boudoir' really didn't do the genre justice.
Olive Tree Photography has been a big part of who I am for so long, and I still love it for my portraits and weddings... but Boudoir really needed something more aligned. So when I came up with the name The Sacred Goddess for some of my other businesses (which are all about love, art, empowerment) I just felt that it resonated so much more!
So Sacred Goddess boudoir was born. I believe that every woman is a Sacred Goddess. Sometimes we need a little boost to remember. So Sacred Goddess Boudoir is all about embracing the magic that is a woman. Reminding her of her inner power and her amazing strength. Never forgetting that she is not only sacred to those that love her, but she IS a goddess too.
