Step One: Book your session
You've seen something you love and have decided you'd like more information about booking a session with Olive Tree Photography. Fantastic! I can't wait to chat with you more. First off, we'll organise a time that suits to have a chat over the phone. I know this may seem daunting, but I promise... I'm not that scary! It's a nice informal, pretty chilled chat and is a great way to really get my vibe and make sure that I am the perfect fit for your upcoming session. It is so important to have someone that you connect with to capture these precious memories for you.
Once we've had a chat, we'll decide on the best time & date for your shoot! There is a lot of factors that go into making this decision. Type of session. Location (if outdoor, generally I suggest golden hour which is the hour before sunset when the light is the most magical!) Who will be in the session. Sleep times / routines & so much more.
Once we've discussed all these options, we'll finalise the time and place. I'll then send through the invoice for your session fee (or full fee depending on they style you're having photographed) which is payable to secure your chosen time and date. Your session is not confirmed until this is paid.
Step two: Before your session
Now you've booked your session, the lead up is both exciting and nerve wracking! Take this time to have a look through the website to see any styles and poses that you love and make a note for reference at your session!
Now is time to decide which style is truly you! Do you love bright colours or more neutrals? Are you more into posed or candid? Or a little of both? You can be a mix of all... there is no right or wrong answer!
You'll be sent through a questionnaire which asks a lot fo these questions, so I have the information and can make your session truly personal.
What do I bring? Anything that is special to you. Heirlooms are a beautiful way to capture the past in the present. Special clothes, blankets or trinkets are a great idea. Just make sure you think about how they might fit in with the style of session you are having! And if in doubt, shoot me a message and check! I'm always happy to help!
What do I wear? Again this really depends on the style of session you've booked. More information will be sent closer to the date of your session, but the biggest rule of thumb is avoid too many patterns (plainer is better... or only 1 person in a pattern) and avoid logos or themed clothes (for instance, Peppa pig for a little one as these themes date really quickly!) A great idea is to keep clothes in a similar colour palette. So if Blue will look beautiful in your home, create varying tones of blue in your clothes. Again, if in doubt, send me a message!
Step three: Your Session
And this is where it all happens! it's time for your session, the day is here! Now let the fun begin!
You'll arrive at either my home based studio or the chosen location. I always suggest leaving home 15 minutes early, to allow for any mishaps or things beyond our control (traffic etc). This also gives you a few minutes to breathe before your session starts!
Depending on your session type, I will spend between 1-4 hours with you. During this time, I will create a truly personal experience and capture memories that will last a lifetime... and truly speak to who you are!
In the beginning, we'll sit down and go through what you'd love to have in your session. We will have a quick 'get to know you' (especially if there is kiddos because it can be quite daunting!) and really get comfortable with each other. If you're having a newborn session, this is where you'll feed bub to get them nice and sleepy and a little bit milk drunk!
Once we've had a chat, we'll jump into your session. During the session, we'll have a few different looks / styles etc... again.. depending not he session you've booked. (i.e. maternity where you can change maternity gowns to create a few different looks)
This is also where you'll get a chance to touch and feel the products from the collections... to really see which might fit the spaces and feel of your home.
After your session, we'll organise a time to come to the studio for your design session. This is where you'll get to see your beautiful images, cinematically and design the best options for your home!
Step four: Your design session
Typically about 2 weeks after you session, you'll come to the studio for your cinematic design session. We'll start with viewing your beautiful images on the big screen then together design the best collections and wall art for your home.
The design session will typically take 1hr and during this time, we can create the magic that will be displayed in your home for many years to come. This is also the time we'll create any gifts and albums for you or your extended families. Our parent albums make a gorgeous gift and can be added into you collections!
Photo packages range from $695 - $1895. These include digital images, matted fine art prints, albums & portfolio boxes, depending on the package that suits you best. All photo packages include a print credit to go towards some beautiful wall art too.
Wall Art starts from $250 and wall collections starting from $995. You can choose between wood, metal, canvass & framed prints.
Once we've finalised your design session, your invoice will be processed and sent via email. This invoice is payable during your design session and I have facilities to help with this, including Credit Card, AfterPay & Cash. You can also enter into a lay-by if that is more suitable to your budget, where your lay-by despot is due at your design session.
Immediately after your design session, I will go back into the office to process your order and send it off for printing! (if you have a lay-by, this will not be done until final payment has cleared). Generally, your beautiful products will arrive back at the studio ready for pickup within two weeks, although can take slightly longer depending on the time of year and my suppliers demand. Most of our products are handmade right here in Brisbane, with so much love and care... and come with an unconditional guarantee of between 30-75 years (depending on product).
Step five: Picking up your artwork
About 3-4 weeks after your design session, your artwork will arrive back at the studio. You will give you a call to let you know and we will organise a time for you to come and pick them up!
Your artwork is made to the highest standard, with great care and love, and comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Step six: Sharing, tagging & showing
Once you have your gorgeous artwork, you beautiful digitals and you've got them displayed in your home and sharing them on socials... don't forget to send through the finished products in your home (every 3 months we'll have a draw to win a special bonus for everyone who sends through their finish products) and tag tag tag on socials! Word of mouth is MASSIVE in our industry, and I LOVE to shared around for all your favourite people to see!
And if by chance one of your friends or family members sees your gorgeous images... AND books a session with me... you'll receive a thank you pressies from me!! SO get sharing and tagging!
Oh... and don't forget to leave a review!! Facebook and google are waiting for your feedback!
